Lecturers: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Miroslav Novak
Lecture:
Video presentation I Will Become an Archivist; introduction to archival science; basics of
archival science, archival theory and practice; professional profile of records managers;
organization, operational processes, institutional structure, and the positioning of records
management within an organization.
Lecturer: Dr. Miroslav Milovanović
Lecture: Artificial intelligence in archival theory and practice, with emphasis on machine
learning models; presentation of descriptors and standards.
Practical part:

November 12 – FORUM, Thursday

Lecturers: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zdenka Semlič Rajh
Lecture:
Professional and technical issues of archival theory and practice; duties and responsibilities of
records managers in organizations; equipment and environmental conditions in archival
repositories; relations with superior authorities and the competent archival institution.
Study materials:
Lectures will be recorded, and participants will receive them in English and Arabic versions (for
study purposes only).
Lecturers: Assist. Prof. Dr. Bogdan F. Popovici and collaborators (Žiga Tekavec)
Lecture: Procedures for determining retention periods of records in theory and practice; lifecycle
of records.
Lecturers: Assist. Prof. Dr. Matevž Košir and collaborators
Lecture: Model and professional characteristics of records managers; staff training; ethical issues
in archival science.
November 13 – FORUM, Friday

Lecturers: Assist. Prof. Dr. Dieter Schlenker (Director of HAEU, Florence, Italy)
Lecture:
Digitization in archival theory and practice; preparation, processing, and management of digital
surrogates – advantages, limitations, and future perspectives.
Practical part:

Procedures for classifying records according to levels of confidentiality (public, internal,
confidential, top secret) in theory and practice; preparation of inventories; long-term
preservation, risks, and cloud storage.

Financial obligations:
1. Conference fee (2 days): €600 (hotel not included)
2. FORUM fee (5 days): €1980 (hotel not included)
The price applies to a minimum of 20 officially registered participants; the organizer will issue a
single invoice for both events in the amount of €2400.
Invoices must be paid no later than September 15, 2026.
