Autumn Archival School
On October 16th, 2007, at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Eklund Hall of the Adriatic Hotel in Grignano (Trieste), the Autumn Archival School of the IIAS was opened. The ceremony was attended by the President of the IIAS, Mr. Antonio Dentoni Litta (Chief of the Department for Archival and Book Goods of the Italian Ministry for Cultural Goods and Activities), by the Director of the Institute, Mr. Peter Pavel Klasinc, by the Director of the School, Ms. Grazia Tatò (Director of the State Archives in Trieste). The School was atended by 25 participants coming from 10 different countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia). During this post graduate course, topics concerning archival science, digital management of archives, archival ethics, the European and international ad hoc legislation and the digital documentation were discussed, and a project was implemented of a multilingual Dictionary of Archival Terminology. The lectures ended on October 23rd, and the course had its conclusion at the 17th International Archival Day on October 24th.
